The
APR (Accredited Public Relations) designation is a distinction granted
by the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) to experienced
public relations professionals who successfully complete a rigorous
full-day written examination, followed by an oral exam conducted
by a panel of accredited professionals. Nationally,
only 40 percent pass the first time.
The APR designation attests to the professionalism of those willing
to do what it takes to earn it. APR confirms commitment to the profession
and to its ethical practice. It also selects candidates who demonstrate
broad knowledge, strategic perspective and sound professional judgment.
